About Jacob

My journey as a writer and reader has been deeply ingrained in my passion for storytelling and literature. From a young age, I found solace and inspiration within the pages of books, cultivating a love for creativity and imagination. This lifelong affinity led me to pursue a formal education in Creative Writing and Literature, where I delved deeper into the art of crafting narratives and analyzing literary works. Fuelled by my desire to immerse myself in the world of books, I ventured into the publishing industry, where I gained invaluable experience as both an acquisitions editor and a published author. Having seen the transformative power of storytelling firsthand, I am now dedicated to helping others explore their creative potential and develop a similar appreciation for writing and literature. My goal is to inspire individuals to unlock their imagination, express themselves through words, and discover the joy of storytelling.

About the lesson

My background revolves around creative writing and literature, supported by a Bachelor's degree in Creative Writing and extensive experience in publishing. This blend of academic learning and hands-on industry experience uniquely qualifies me for the role of creative writing tutor. I've been writing for as long as I can remember, having authored multiple novels and been published in respected literary journals.

During my time at Open Road Integrated Media as an acquisitions editor and executive assistant, I developed a keen eye for spotting promising literary works, sharpened my editing skills, and built strong relationships with authors and clients. My role as a contracts assistant at Penguin Random House further polished my ability to communicate effectively and manage complex projects.

These experiences have given me a deep understanding of storytelling techniques, narrative structure, and the ins and outs of the publishing world, all of which I'm excited to share with aspiring writers. Combined with my genuine passion for mentoring and coaching, as demonstrated by my pursuit of certifications in health coaching and crisis intervention, I'm confident in my ability to inspire and guide students to unleash their creative potential and excel in their writing pursuits.
