About Arden

Hey there! I'm Arden, and I'm a Modern Languages and Economics student at the University of Warwick. As part of my degree, I am spending a year studying at Université Grenoble Alpes, where I am fully immersed in French language and culture. Having studied French from A Level through to university as well as beginning learning Mandarin Chinese from scratch two years ago, I know from personal experience how difficult yet rewarding language learning can be and am passionate about helping others gain confidence (and enjoyment!) in the process!

I aim to create a friendly, supportive and encouraging environment where students feel comfortable making mistakes and asking questions. Whether you're preparing for GCSE or A Level exams, starting French from scratch, or simply looking to improve your conversational skills, I'd love to help you achieve your goals.

As a current university student, I understand the challenges students face and know that real progress comes from more than just keeping up a Duolingo streak! I tailor each lesson to the individual, keeping things engaging and focused on genuine, lasting improvement.

About the lesson

Salut! I'm a Modern Languages and Economics student at the University of Warwick, currently studying French through full language immersion at Université Grenoble Alpes in France. I offer engaging online lessons for GCSE, A Level, university beginners and anyone looking to improve their spoken or written French.

A typical lesson with me usually involves initially discussing what students are currently finding most challenging, practising vocabulary and grammar rules, reviewing past papers where useful and using real world materials to not only enhance language comprehension but also increase cultural fluency of France and the francophone world.

I have incredibly flexible availability; lessons normally last 60-90 minutes and tend to take place online (or in person in the Birmingham area). I like to provide home learning resources between lessons from past papers to media recommendations to personal resources tailored to the students needs. Whether you want to improve your reading, writing, speaking or listening skills, I'd be more than happy to help in any and all ways I can.
