Let's Discover the Joy of Learning Together
Hello and welcome! I am a dedicated educator who believes that learning should never feel like a chore—it should be an adventure. My teaching philosophy is built on a foundation of absolute professionalism, patience, and a deep-seated passion for helping young minds thrive.
Whether we are unlocking the mysteries of primary math, diving into a brilliant story, or exploring the wonders of science, you can count on my utmost dedication, reliability, and enthusiasm. I look forward to partnering with your family and guiding your child toward academic confidence!
I don't just love teaching; I am a lifelong learner myself. I know firsthand the spark that ignites when a difficult concept suddenly clicks, and my goal is to bring that exact breakthrough to your child in every single lesson.

>Primary science is about nurturing a child’s natural curiosity and showing them how to investigate the world around them safely and creatively.
• Inquiry-Based Learning (The 5E Model): I build lessons around the 5E Framework: Engage, Explore, Explain, Elaborate, and Evaluate. Instead of giving away answers upfront, I present a mini-mystery (like "Why do some things float and others sink?"), encouraging kids to figure out the rules of nature through guided clues.
• Kitchen & Backyard Science: I design safe, zero-cost micro-experiments using everyday household items. Turning a kitchen into a chemistry lab with baking soda or testing gravity with paper airplanes ensures that science feels alive and touchable.
> The Usual Structure of a Class (60 Minutes)
To match the high energy and attention spans of primary school students, our sessions pivot every 10 to 15 minutes to keep them fully engaged:
1. The Science Hook (5-10 mins): A surprising question or short visual puzzle to grab attention (e.g., "Look at this picture—why do you think a polar bear's fur isn't actually white?").
2. Guided Discovery (15 mins): The student interacts with a visual simulation, maps a cycle, or sorts digital objects to gather clues and make predictions.
3. The Big Reveal (20 mins): We connect their clues to the official science concept. I introduce new vocabulary using fun, color-coded drawings and memorable stories rather than text-heavy definitions.
4. The Junior Scientist Challenge (10 mins): The student takes the lead! They try out a quick interactive challenge or solve a puzzle to prove they can apply what they just learned.
5. Lab Wrap-Up & Mystery Teaser (5 mins): We celebrate the day's breakthrough and leave them with a fun riddle to think about until the next lesson.
> My Special Features as a Teacher
• A "Mistake-Safe" Sandbox: Science is all about trial and error. I praise wrong predictions as wonderful starting points, teaching children that every failed attempt is just data that gets us closer to the truth.
• Building STEM Confidence: I actively work with young learners who find science intimidating or overwhelming, replacing anxiety with the thrill of discovery and a genuine growth mindset.
>My Superprof science schedule is completely dedicated to foundational primary education:
• Primary School Explorers (Ages 5-11 / Grades K-5): Children learning basic Earth, Life, and Physical sciences who want to excel in class and build an ironclad foundation.
• Curious Minds & Space/Animal Enthusiasts: Kids who already love nature, dinosaurs, or rockets and need a dedicated mentor to feed their passion with structured learning.
• Hands-On Learners: Children who struggle with traditional textbook reading but thrive when concepts are taught through visuals, games, and active storytelling.
Recommendations
Recommendations come from relatives, friends and acquaintances of the tutor.
I have known Ann for over 9 years. Ann was employed by King's College India to be a class teacher for the primary department where I was the Head of Primary.
Ann is a true asset in her current role. She has a passion for her job and works extremely hard to get to know all the students and help them aspire to be the best they can be. She has always struck up an excellent relationship with students and parents.
Ann uses a wide range of well-chosen, effective strategies, questions, materials, technology, and current research to accelerate student learning. She carries out assignments conscientiously and punctually, keeps meticulous records, and is never late. Demonstrates professional demeanor and maintains appropriate boundaries. Is a positive team player and contributes ideas, expertise, and time to the overall mission of the school. Collaborates with colleagues to plan units, share teaching ideas, and look at students' work. Seeks out effective teaching ideas from colleagues, workshops, and other sources.
Our best experience together was taking a class of Primary 6 students to an outdoor education programme for a week, where she showed resilience, empathy and was extremely hard working to make the week a real success.
Ann will make an excellent Superprof member as she has the knowledge and expertisie to help improve all students' English grades. She will make the lessons relevant, engaging and make sure they are tailored to each individual student.
I have no hesitation in recommending Ann for this role.View more recommendations
