About Angel
About Mrs. Thompson: Hello, I have been using the language of sign since my youth with friends who are deaf and a distant family member. I have been privileged to have been teaching ASL since 1987, and in 1990 she began teaching ASL and Deaf Culture as an adjunct professor at Grace College in Winona Lake, Indiana. She is also fluent in French Sign Language, and for 4 years lived on the Island of Guadeloupe in the F.W.I where she taught FSL and worked with the Deaf Youth Community. One of my most favorite memories have been as a counselor at Deaf Camp as well as working with students in Guadeloupe. When I visited the school I noticed that no one signed. The teachers would face the board and talk. You could see they all were so lost. Once I made a connection with signing their language they began coming to my house after school to play checkers and just talk. I have many other stories that I would love to share as you learn this language. I will share when I went back to visit I was told a young man was at the gate asking for me. It had been 2 years since I had been on the island. It was one of the students, now a man. We embraced and he began to talk and share. I stopped him and realized he was signing ASL. He looked at me and said, "I learned ASL so if you came again. could talk to you in your language. You learned mine to talk to me and I wanted to meet you in your language." I currently teach through the day at a local Charter School in Myrtle Beach, where I have been teaching Music and ASL for 7 years.

Recommendations
Recommendations come from relatives, friends and acquaintances of the tutor.
I am a teacher and have the privilege to work with Angel and see the way she responds to students and they to her. She is as patient as the day is long, and students love her sense of humor. She really knows ASL well and conveys the knowledge of the language, its best practice, and all the ramifications of inflection and space that affect it. She is relaxed and casual, though very professional at all times; her creative activities bring the language alive. Students love Angel as much as she loves them. I recommend her highly and unreservedly.
Angel is an amazing, caring and creative teacher. I have had the pleasure to teach with her for over six years.
