About Marta

I have been singing in choirs since the 6th grade, and attended college on a full vocal music scholarship. There I received amazing vocal training, studied music theory, and performed in both chamber and jazz choirs. After college, I performed as a professional singer touring the country, as well as performed on Broadway as a triple-threat (dancer, singer, actress). I have been a private vocal coach for over 20 years and am also currently a church choir director. I specialize in Musical Theatre performance, and love helping students of all ages achieve their goals, be it for personal joy, audition preparations, or performance.

About the lesson

I bring a positive energy and enthusiasm, as well as a high level of quality to my coaching. As a professional vocalist, triple threat performer, and choral director, I bring many valuable hats to each lesson!

My students say that my training is not only extremely transformative to their abilities, but also to their lives! Singing is not just technical, but also spiritual and psychological, and therefore lessons are focused on the whole-person to achieve the best results.

Each lesson is customized to YOUR needs and goals, with including warmups and vocal exercises that prepare the voice for singing in a safe and nurturing way.

Technical work involves addressing specific areas of singing, like breath control, vocal register balance, improve tone, strengthening weaknesses, building your ear, and overall control (such as runs, trills, vibrato, etc.).

Repertoire practice includes working on songs within your range while applying learned techniques, and potentially introducing new pieces. Lessons conclude with feedback, suggestions for what/how to practice, and what we will work on next time.

Sight reading and basic music theory are an important part of each lesson, as it will greatly enhance your ability and opportunities long term.

Perfect! She was amazing and helpful! She even told me straight up I didn’t need lessons for what I wanted (to deepen my voice). Very thoughtful and attentive and saved me the trouble of spending money on something I don’t need!

Marta is an excellent vocal teacher. She helped me get my voice back. She was extremely helpful at building my confidence back up. I was classically trained in NY and I ended up losing my voice completely when I got a blood clot in my Superior Vena Cava during a kidney transplant surgery. I had no breath support or control. I couldn’t even speak well. Fast forward a few years and thanks to Marta I am now singing again.
