About Jorge
I previously worked at Cal State LA as an SI Leader and my job was to provide weekly, peer-led group study sessions for students that were struggling in their Mathematical courses. This position allowed me to utilize my expertise in math to provide these individuals with a systematic and disciplined approach for processing the subject material assigned by the professor. This was a seasonal job that allowed me to further enhance students' knowledge in their course concepts. As an alumnus of Francisco Bravo Medical Magnet that received an AP score of 4 on the AP Calculus BC Exam, I was able to volunteer as an AP Calculus tutor to help students that were struggling in this subject and provide a disciplined approach for the material conducted by the instructor. This volunteering experience also allowed me to collaborate, build confidence, and motivation in students to succeed in their course. I've also volunteered at my local elementary school to help plenty of children either one-on-one or in groups in math. I have great patience with everyone because I believe it's very crucial to allow the individual to comprehend the information and retain it.

Hello! My name is Jorge, but you can call me George. I graduated from Cal State LA with a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering and two minors in both Biomedical Engineering and Mathematics, respectively. I have plenty of tutoring experience from both the University and at the high school I attended. I've taught AP Calculus and other higher math class levels! I've always had a passion in helping students, but most importantly--building rapport. I love to motivate individuals in learning the fundamentals of mathematics. I also love to make math fun as much as possible, with my unique way of teaching of course! I admire watching students grow and obtain the mastery of the courses so they can succeed in their future careers.
I have been tutoring for also seven years and I have great patience with everyone. I believe that is the most important attribute as a tutor. I've taught all levels of math starting with Algebra 1, Algebra 2, Geometry, Pre-Calculus, Trigonometry, AP Calculus AB and BC, Differential Equations, Multivariable Calculus, and even Statistics! I worked with many diverse students in both groups and one-on-one. I always love to help--there's never a bad time to solve math problems!
I want to enhance students math skills so they can become successful in their classes as well as their future careers. I am very friendly and will never ridicule anyone for their questions. The most significant thing is to learn the criteria and that's what I desire to accomplish in all my students. I provide fast responses, so please don't hesitate to contact me!
