About Kira

I am a violin tutor with over 10 years of experience and a Bachelor of Science in Orchestral Studies, where I served as a Violin Section Leader. I love using technology to enhance learning—tools like slow-down apps, DAWs, MIDI notation, and video feedback help students carefully analyze and refine their playing. This approach is especially helpful when preparing violin parts for original songs or covers. My passion lies in teaching styles like Jazz Violin, Rock Strings, and Indie Folk. I enjoy guiding students through improvisation and creating custom backing tracks tailored to their unique sound. These methods make lessons engaging and creative. I believe in blending traditional technique with modern technology to give you an edge in your playing and recording. Whether you want to perform live or lay down tracks in the studio, I’ll help you develop the skills you need. Together, we’ll explore new ways to express yourself on the violin. About the lesson

My teaching approach focuses on developing strong sight-reading skills for the violin. I cover important topics like reading ledger lines, mastering complex rhythms, and navigating multi-part scores with ease. The method I use is systematic and helps build a clear connection between what you see on the page and what your fingers play. This visual-to-finger coordination is key to reading music quickly and accurately.

I work closely with The Musical Theatre Enthusiast and The Worship Singer, tailoring lessons to sharpen their reading abilities. Together, we practice sight-reading regularly to boost confidence and fluency. I provide clear, step-by-step guidance so you can approach new pieces without hesitation.

My goal is to help you play new music instantly, whether on stage or in rehearsal. You’ll learn to trust your eyes and fingers to work smoothly together. I support every student in excelling by offering focused exercises and encouraging steady progress. With patience and practice, sight-reading becomes a natural skill.
