About Isla
With 7 years of teaching experience and a Bachelor of Arts in Music with a violin emphasis, I specialize in preparing students for graded exams such as ABRSM, Trinity, and AMEB, as well as competitions and school recitals. My approach is both structured and supportive, focusing on essential technical drills, scales, arpeggios, and sight-reading to build a strong foundation. I believe that consistent practice and attention to detail are key to success. Each lesson is carefully planned to address technical skills while keeping students motivated and engaged. I emphasize the importance of technique as a tool for musical expression, helping young learners develop both precision and artistry. Building performance confidence is a major part of my teaching. Through regular mock performances and positive reinforcement, students gain the assurance they need to shine on stage. I tailor my instruction to meet each student’s individual goals and learning style, ensuring steady progress. My aim is to create a positive, encouraging environment where students feel supported and inspired. Together, we work toward achieving technical mastery and expressive playing, preparing students to perform with consistency and joy.
