About Keira

I am a violin tutor with over 8 years of teaching experience and a Diploma in Classical Violin. While I have a strong foundation in classical technique, my true passion lies in exploring crossover styles such as Jazz, Rock, Hip-Hop Strings, and World Music. In my lessons, I encourage students to experiment and push boundaries. We use improvisation, looping pedals, and creative performance techniques to bring music to life in exciting ways. I guide students in writing their own solos, adapting popular songs, and discovering unique sounds by experimenting with tone and texture. Each lesson is tailored to the student’s interests, helping them build confidence while developing technical skills. I focus on making learning both structured and fun, blending theory with hands-on creativity. My aim is to help students express themselves fully and find their musical voice. Whether you are a beginner or looking to explore new styles, I am here to inspire and support your journey. About the lesson

I begin each lesson by listening to the student’s story—what excites them about the violin and what challenges they face. Many arrive struggling with posture, weak intonation, or feeling unmotivated. Together, we tackle these step by step. I show them how to hold the bow correctly, align their posture, and build strength and control in their fingers. Scales and exercises become a journey, not a chore. I guide students through disciplined practice while encouraging expressive dynamics that bring music to life. For those who crave structure, I create clear practice routines that make progress visible and satisfying. Some students want to shine in performance or storytelling through music. I help them channel emotion into each phrase, building confidence and stage presence. Others aim to accelerate their skills, so I offer targeted exercises and improvisation challenges to stretch their abilities. By celebrating small victories and exploring the joy of sound, I turn frustration into excitement. Each student discovers their unique voice on the violin, whether playing gentle melodies, dramatic solos, or vibrant pieces. My goal is simple: to inspire passion, build skill, and help every learner love the journey as much as the music itself.
