About Nick
I’m Nick, a violin teacher with over 5 years of online teaching experience, more than 7,000 lessons taught, and over 150 students of all ages and levels. Many of them came to me after years of struggle, having tried different teachers and methods — and finally started progressing. That’s not by chance.
My teaching focuses on understanding the core principles of violin playing and solving real problems at their roots — not just addressing symptoms. Whether you’re a beginner or someone with years of experience who still feels stuck, I can help you build (or rebuild) your playing on a solid technical and artistic foundation.
As the founder of ViolinScience, an educational platform on Instagram and YouTube with a growing community of nearly 9,000 followers, I specialize in helping students:
• Start properly — to avoid years of frustration and bad habits
• Fix long-standing technical problems — even those you’ve struggled with for years
• Understand the “why” behind every movement, not just copy instructions
• Build clear, step-by-step strategies toward confident and musical playing
• Discover the joy of producing a beautiful, intentional sound

My approach is practical, analytical, and personalized. I don’t teach “one-size-fits-all” solutions — instead, I help you see what you specifically need, and guide you to replace inefficient habits with clear, healthy ones. That includes working on posture, setup, tone production, left-hand clarity, bow control, and musical interpretation — always with a long-term perspective. I believe that true progress comes not just from repetition, but from understanding what you’re doing, why you’re doing it, and how to do it better. That mindset leads to lasting improvement, self-confidence, and real satisfaction in your playing.
⸻ Who I Work With
• Beginners who want to start the right way — with clarity, structure, and motivation
• Returning players who feel like something was always missing in their training
• Advanced students seeking a deeper understanding of interpretation, phrasing, and sound
• Anyone who’s ready to break through their limitations and start making real progress
⸻ What Makes My Teaching Different
• Deep technical insight, backed by thousands of hours of one-on-one work • Emphasis on diagnosis first, so you don’t waste time on generic “tips”
• Ability to explain complex concepts in a clear, structured way
• Focus on sound quality as the ultimate goal — not just playing notes
• Proven track record of helping students transform their playing and rediscover joy in the instrument
Whether you’re starting from scratch or you’ve been searching for real answers for years, I can help you take your playing to the next level — with clarity, logic, and artistry. Let’s make your sound something you’re truly proud of.
Recommendations
Recommendations come from relatives, friends and acquaintances of the tutor.
Nick is my good friend! We played many times together. He has a good music taste and truly knows how to achieve the goals! I can recommend him as a good teacher also!
I’ve been lucky to know Nick both as a musician and as a teacher, and I can honestly say he has a rare gift for explaining the violin in a way that actually makes sense. He doesn’t just give you exercises — he helps you understand why things work, and suddenly the difficult parts start to feel possible. His lessons are focused, practical, and you always leave with something you can apply right away. I’ve seen students make progress with him in weeks that would normally take months. If you’re looking for someone who really understands both the instrument and how people learn — Nick is the one.
As someone who has closely followed Nick’s teaching for years, I’ve been consistently impressed by the precision, depth, and care he brings to every lesson. He doesn’t just teach the violin — he helps students understand how it works on a fundamental level, guiding them through a process that is both intellectually engaging and musically rewarding.
What I find especially rare is his ability to notice subtle things that often go overlooked — tensions, imbalances, inefficiencies — and then address them with clarity and logic. I’ve seen students make breakthroughs with him after being stuck for a long time elsewhere.
Nick has a strong sense for how to create a working process that actually fits the student — not pushing too fast, not overloading, but always moving forward with purpose.
I would wholeheartedly recommend Nick to anyone who wants to not just play the violin, but truly grow with it — thoughtfully, effectively, and with renewed motivation.Have you ever felt your violin sounds thin, scratchy, or just not the way you imagined, no matter how much you practice? Nick is exactly the person who can help you fix that. He explains how to use your body efficiently to create a beautiful, powerful tone. You’ll be amazed at what your violin is actually capable of.
I experienced this myself while preparing for my master’s exam. I had practiced hard, but something still felt off. Nick helped me identify where I was holding unnecessary tension and showed me how to release it. As a result I played my entire hour-long exam with freedom. No tension, no discomfort. I finally enjoyed the music the way I had always imagined.
If you’re feeling stuck or like your sound just isn’t where you want it to be, I can definitely recommend Nick. He doesn't just fix problems. He reveals potential you didn’t know you had.View more recommendations
