About Merike

I am a professional violist with extensive experience in working with different orchestras, chamber music ensembles and having solo performances. For the last 4 years I have been working in the National Opera Orchestra in Estonia, Tallinn.
I have Bachelor's degree in music interpretation for the viola and vocational degrees in interpretation of violin and viola from schools in Europe. I have also been an member of international youth orchestras of very high standard (EUYO and GMJO).

In addition to classical music I have played in bands of different genres, such as pop, rock, folk.

About the lesson

I am happy to teach anybody who loves music and is interested in developing their skills further. I have qualifications to teach from the very beginning to a high level. Most important is enthusiasm to learn and curiosity. I try to keep the lessons engaging and to the specific needs of the students.
I have 20 years of classical training with extensive stage experience, so I can help with performance related difficulties and also help find new ideas and develop technique.
I do not mind trying different genres for learning.
