About Vika

- What kind of experience do you have?

I have first hand teaching experience through work placements with children aged four to nineteen inclusive, as well as my own personal experience as a mother of three young children. I feel that I have been well equipped to build a rapport and manage the challenges of working with young people both in individual and in-group situations. I have taught pupils with ADHD, Aspergers, ASD, as well as pupils on 'statement' due to challenging behaviour. More recently, I had an opportunity to work with a small group of teenagers within the St. Nicholas' Hospital, and received very good feedback, which could be provided upon a request.

I also have professional experience in the fitness coaching industry. I hold various professional qualifications, and in 1996 worked in Newcastle City Council Leisure Centres and swimming pools, as well as private gymnasiums, teaching a variety of classes for various age groups.

- Do you have an up-to-date DBS (Disclosure & Barring Service, formerly CRB) Certificate?

I have an Enchanced CRB Police clearance form.

- Do you belong to any professional organisations?

Member of REPs; British Gymnastics; British Weightlfting Association.

- Tell me about some of your current students.

Worked in EAL department in local school, where I assisted pupils and their parents, who arrived from Russia. I helped them to fit in to school environment and understand what is needed and expected.

About the lesson

- Which subject(s) do you teach?

I was born in the former USSR. Here in England, I teach PE, coach trampolining and girls' gymnastics.
I am a competitive weightlifter, and coach other athletes as well.
I have my own personal training business and run fitness classes in Jesmond.

- Tell me about your qualifications.

I am graduate of Moscow State Academy of the Textile Industry;
BS(c) Applied Sports Science with Coaching;
Numerous fitness and sport-related coaching qualifications, including gymnastics and athletics and coaching children with disabilities.

- How much do you charge?

For conversational Russian I charge £20 per hour. I live in the Jesmond Area, and would cover the areas surrounding Newcastle upon Tyne.

I will be happy to work around your schedule, and I'm available most days and nights, before 8.30 pm.

- Which ages and levels do you teach?

I can assist you with Russian language, regardless of your age. Personal Training is also available for teenagers, as well as adults. Please check out my website (above).
