About John
I live to teach, which curiously also explains why I no longer work as a teacher. You see, I'm incredibly good at quickly discovering where you are getting stuck with a problem. Think of me as a "coach" -- as someone who won't waste your time stumbling around in the dark -- and you'll find my ability very useful. But if you think of me as your evaluator, and you might find this a bit disconcerting.

I use a lot of technology in my math teaching, not so much to explain but to explore. You will learn and retain the most when you learn by doing, by figuring things out on your own (with a little guidance now and then.)
