About Zhen Hong

About the lesson

Hi, I am Zhen, a VIT (611607) registered teacher for 6 years and one with extensive experience in private tutoring: spanning 10 years since I began. I am also a Melbourne High School graduate, with an ATAR of 97.20. As such, I am well aware of the challenges and competition faced by students, and how they can overcome them.

I provide tutoring either in-person or online for both VCE Chemistry and Mathematical Methods, along with the Sciences and Mathematics across Years 7 - 10.

My teaching strongly aligns with the Victorian curriculum, ensuring that student learning needs are guided with clear goals in mind. This then informs my practice in terms of the resources that I provide for my students, such as PowerPoints and worksheets. Furthermore, I am also able to provide detailed and coherent worked examples when explaining how best to tackle tough problems, ensuring that learning is carefully scaffolded. Student needs are highly individualised after all, and I endeavour to equip my students with the tools needed for success.

I also have access to a range of resources that many schools utilise, such as textbooks published by Jacaranda, for example. These ensure that I am supporting student learning in a way that does not cause any conflict with what is done in schools, but also ensures that I can provide supplementary material if need be.
