About Adam

I’m a Physics postgraduate student and experienced private tutor with over 8 years of tutoring experience, teaching students from Year 10 through to university level in Physics, Mathematics, and Chemistry. I achieved a 99.65 ATAR and completed a Bachelor of Science in Physics, and I’m currently undertaking an Accelerated Research Masters in Physics. During my undergraduate studies, I also studied at Nagoya University in Japan, which at the time was ranked 16th globally for Physics. This experience exposed me to rigorous problem-solving approaches and high academic standards, which I bring into my tutoring. I’ve worked with a wide range of students — from those who are struggling and need confidence rebuilt, to high-achieving students aiming for top results. I understand that every student learns differently, and I take the time to adapt my teaching style to suit each individual. I’m known for being patient, approachable, and encouraging, while still holding students to clear standards and goals. My aim isn’t just to help students pass a test, but to help them develop strong thinking skills and confidence that carry over into future studies. Outside of tutoring, my academic background in research and problem-solving allows me to stay current with advanced content and effective learning strategies, particularly for students transitioning from high school to university-level science and mathematics.

About the lesson

My lessons are structured, supportive, and results-focused, designed to build genuine understanding rather than rote memorisation.

I teach Physics, Mathematics, and Chemistry from Year 10 to university level, with lessons tailored directly to each student’s curriculum, syllabus, and upcoming assessments.

What to expect in lessons:

Clear explanations that break complex ideas into logical, step-by-step processes

Targeted practice questions aligned to tests and exams

Exam preparation using past papers, syllabi, and textbooks

I focus strongly on understanding the why behind concepts, which helps students approach unfamiliar problems with confidence and independence. If a student is struggling, I adjust explanations, examples, and pacing until the concept clicks.

Lessons are delivered in a friendly, low-pressure environment where questions are encouraged and mistakes are treated as part of learning. This approach helps students stay engaged, motivated, and confident in their progress.

Whether the goal is to improve grades, prepare for exams, or build long-term confidence in maths and science, my lessons are designed to help students progress steadily and achieve their best.
