About Samuel

Of the extant social systems, I hold academia of all disciplines in the highest of esteem. I believe our entire pursuit of knowledge is both our most noble, dignified aspect as well as the one and only key we have to progress, the insurance and improvement of everyone's well-being. This enterprise has less to do with revolutionary doctoral theses than with the classrooms filled with kids all across the country and globe. I believe progress begins at the most fundamental of points: the first blossoming of new minds. The earlier the stage of the growing mind, the more critical and literally mass-effective is the cultivation, assistance, and guidance of that mind. We have no idea the potential of a universal mental empowerment via a "proper" theory and practice of pedagogy, didactics, and pure social psychology--our social sciences are working on it, but I suspect such an investiture is our ticket to the stars. On a more grounded note, I have also personal and practical motivations for teaching. Nothing is more fulfilling than having stimulated understanding, or better yet interest, in a young student. Helping people has always been the most rewarding occupation I've enjoyed in my life, and of those the assistance of education has been the most personally satisfying.

About the lesson

I believe that each mind is a unique work of art, with quasi-infinite potential, and that all that is required for any student to discover what is interesting to them in their work, and come to enjoy it (ancillary to academic success; the former is actually more important, but always affects the latter without further effort), is the right "key" crafted to fit whatever locks there are on the mind--that is, the right teacher. I believe, normatively, that education and the cultivation of young minds is entirely in the hands of those proctoring that same. That is, (to put it crudely and incompletely) there are no "bad" students; only "bad" teachers. All of my experience tutoring and teaching is with college-level students, but the same principles of total open-mindedness, stylistically and practically dynamic conceptualization, and radical acceptance, empathy, and kindness apply to all ages. I can help with English, Math, and Science (mostly Chemistry, but a little Physics). My impetus in teaching is an eagerness to kindle young minds; I believe supporting students is paramount to all of our long-term well-beings. As for specific lesson plans, those will be developed especially for each set of material and each student.
