About Vellayan

Hi, I’m Vellayan! I am currently completing my Master of Data Science at the University of Technology Sydney (UTS), living locally in the Parramatta / Mays Hill area. I hold a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science with a strong technical background in software logic, programming, and data systems.

With hands-on experience guiding students through core technical concepts, I focus on making programming approachable, interactive, and structured. I teach students how to think like programmers—focusing on problem-solving logic rather than just memorizing syntax.

Whether you are a beginner looking to write your first lines of Python code or seeking guidance with foundational computer science concepts, I tailor every session to your learning speed.

About the lesson

My coding lessons break down complex programming concepts into intuitive, easy-to-understand steps designed for complete beginners and students looking to build real-world tech skills.

A typical 60-minute session is structured into three practical phases:
1. Logic Warm-Up & Code Review (10 mins): We address questions from previous tasks or troubleshoot any school/university assignments.
2. Hands-On Coding & Live Examples (35 mins): We write live Python code together, breaking down data types, control flow, loops, functions, and SQL/database basics step-by-step.
3. Guided Practice & Mini-Project (15 mins): You apply what you learned by writing clean, working code independently with real-time feedback.

Who these lessons are for:
• Beginners & School Students: Learning foundational Python, basic algorithms, and computer logic.
• University Students & Adult Beginners: Master core Python programming, data manipulation, and database concepts (PostgreSQL/SQL).

Format & Travel Notice:
In-person home visits are conducted as 2-hour practical blocks ($80 per visit). 1-hour sessions ($35) are available online or in-person at Parramatta Library.
