About Madison
I have 3+ years of experience working with students in and outside the classroom and I’m super motivated to learn even more before I become a teacher myself. I’m extremely fun, approachable, and accepting of all people from diverse backgrounds. I disagree with the common trope of the teacher as the giver of information and the student as the receiver - I believe that the two should work together to uncover truth and I’m constantly learning from my students all the time. I think it’s really fun and fulfilling to tap into the minds of young people and modify their thinking patterns in order to discover new ideas and find correct answers.

I’m a very creative, open-minded, and responsible individual that loves to see students progress their skills and thinking patterns. I’m pursuing a degree in fine arts as well as teacher education so I love to bring artistic concepts into my education as a way to make learning more fun and creative. I would love to apply the skills I’m learning in social-emotional and social justice teaching into my tutoring work and gain more experience working with students!
