About JJ
I've always had a strong passion in sharing my knowledge with others by walking them through difficult concepts with the use of tips and tricks I found helpful during my studies. No matter how difficult or abstract topics can be, I believe there's always a way to dumb it down and establish ways to better understand concepts or retain vast amounts of information for longer periods of time.
One of my core skills is being able to analyse and break down problems into parts and build effective solutions. That being said, I am capable of analysing what people tend to struggle with and offer solutions that work best for them and effectively help to fill in gaps in knowledge.
I've previously worked as a teaching assistant for MBChB and MEDSCI courses and so I believe I can bring much value to those in first year UoA or UoO. I also like to highlight and integrate information taught in first year while teaching students studying NCEA or Cambridge so that it facilitates them getting through first year. Regarding AP subjects, I've managed to achieve a score of 5 on all science subjects and so I can provide test taking tips and skills in acing exams.

My lessons are intended for students either in first year biomed / healthsci aiming for clinical programmes, especially MBChB, or students in high school studying NCEA / Cambridge to get into first year biomed / healthsci at either University of Auckland or University of Otago.
I've also tutored for AP subjects as well for those preparing for overseas universities. I focus mainly on core science subjects (biology, chemistry, physics) but also able to teach psychology.
My lessons range from 1.5 - 2 hours depending on students' needs. I strive to calibrate my teachings to students' needs and desires and like to think that I am quite flexible!
