About Theodore

Hi there! I’m a violin tutor with over 4 years of experience and a Bachelor’s degree in Violin Performance, specializing in Contemporary Repertoire. My foundation is classical, but my passion lies in helping students explore the full expressive potential of the violin. I work closely with students on orchestral excerpts, chamber music skills, and ensemble preparation. Together, we’ll focus on refining bowing technique, vibrato, and musical phrasing that connects emotionally with your audience. We’ll also learn to shift styles effectively—whether Classical, Contemporary, or Cinematic. Many of my students pursue ABRSM and Trinity exams, and I offer structured, goal-oriented lessons that build toward those milestones. I also offer coaching for orchestra members, helping them develop leadership and listening skills in group settings. Whether you're rehearsing for a concert or learning to collaborate with other musicians, I’ll help you build the skills to thrive. Let's take your playing beyond the notes on the page. About the lesson

My teaching focuses on helping students become not just violinists, but thoughtful musicians. I use a method that links music theory with every aspect of violin playing. You’ll learn about keys, chord shapes, scales, and intervals as you play, not just from a workbook.

This is especially helpful for musical theatre students and choir singers who want to understand their parts better and connect with the ensemble. I help you build confidence by showing how theory supports intonation, phrasing, and tone production. You’ll be able to “hear ahead” and make musical decisions more easily.

We practice with purpose, and theory is always part of the conversation. I also prepare students for performance exams, covering both technical and theoretical elements. Everything we do builds toward making you a more independent, well-rounded player.

Music isn’t just notes—it’s patterns, structure, and meaning. My goal is to help you see that through your violin.
