About Sam

Sam Noonan is an interdisciplinary artist whose practice centers on conversations and community, expressed through movement, poetry, music production, and theater. He has published a poetry collection and co-created a collaborative work of poetry and painting with Andrew Hopkins, alongside a short story featured in Cassandra Voices. Sam hosted The Literary Series on Dublin Digital Radio, exploring the intersections of movement, literature and sound. In 2024, he wrote, performed, and composed the sound design for Transitions, a new play debuted at the Scene + Heard Festival in Smock Alley Theatre. He also performed with Quilombo Terra at the International Literature Festival as part of Little Amal (Walk with Amal) and DJ’d at the Dominick Street Art Jam. At Hidden Hearth Festival last year, Sam hosted the Library Stage, curating and facilitating live talks, performances, and conversations. His work includes a co-facilitated workshop for neurodivergent communities at Rua Red, culminating in a collaborative installation and movement practice. In January 2025, Sam began working as a tutor on the Creative Pathways course at IADT, supporting individuals living with intellectual disabilities in developing their artistic voice. Earlier this year, Sam created and performed 'Curiosity in Motion' as part of the St Patricks Festival. Sam participated in the Dance 2 Connect program this year which included classes, rehearsals, and a performance in Dance Ireland.

My work as an artist is rooted in conversation, collaboration, and creative expression. I bring this same spirit into my approach to private tutoring—creating a space that is supportive, exploratory, and responsive to each individual’s unique way of learning.

With a background in movement, poetry, music production, and theatre, I draw from a broad toolkit to help learners connect with material in ways that feel meaningful and accessible. I believe in meeting people where they are, and I aim to create learning environments that are inclusive, adaptive, and grounded in mutual respect.

I've had the privilege of working across a range of creative and community settings—from writing and performing theatre pieces to co-facilitating workshops for neurodivergent communities, and curating talks and performances at festivals. These experiences have taught me the value of listening deeply, encouraging curiosity, and holding space for multiple forms of expression.

Currently, I’m a tutor on the Creative Pathways course at IADT, working with individuals living with intellectual disabilities. This role continues to shape my understanding of inclusive teaching, and inspires the way I guide and support others through private sessions.

Whether working on creative writing, performance, or simply building confidence in expression, my goal is to offer a tutoring experience that is not just educational, but empowering.
