About Abigail
I am a student at the University of Toronto, St. George. I'm studying Computer Science and Computational Cognitive Science with a minor in Data Science. In my studies, my primary area of interest is machine learning, but I am also taking a variety of writing and history courses.
I have 3+ years of tutoring experience in middle and high school level algebra and english.

I believe in a student centred approach, focusing on understanding rather than rote memorisation. I use a combination of direct instruction, interactive problem-solving, and real-life applications to make concepts relatable and engaging. I also incorporate different visual aids to cater to different learning styles.
In a lesson, I typically being with a quick review of previous material or a fun problem to get started. I then introduce new topics using examples and visual aids. We will work through problems together, so I can gauge the student's understanding of the concepts before giving the student some independent time to work. At the end of each session, I will give a quick overview of what was learned, as well as, a few practice problems for homework.
For students focused on writing, I ask that students come prepared with a draft or outline that we can work on together to build and revise their essays.
I offer tutoring for students K - 10. Whether you’re struggling with basic concepts or preparing for advanced exams, I can tailor my lessons to fit your specific needs and goals.
