About Kezia

I am an undergraduate History student at the University of Southampton, with plans to further my studies and pursue a career in further education.
I was a dedicated student throughout secondary school and sixth form, even receiving an offer to study at the University of Cambridge, which unfortunately, I was not able to pursue due to my stress around exams.
Because of this, I want to help others pursue their goals, and to ensure that exam stress and anxiety do not prevent students from reaching their full potential.
I am competent with literacy and grammar, and have a deep understanding of assessment objects and what exam boards look for due to my recent, first-hand experiences at A-level and GCSE. This means that I can relate to students' struggles with courses, and I am able to help with exam content and questions, something that can be quite heavy in humanities subjects, and may seem overwhelming.
Most importantly of all, I am a huge History nerd, and I feel very passionately about the subject, but I also understand that others are not. I want to foster an engaging environment where it is okay to ask questions, and to try to share the light of History (not just the boring bits!)
Overall, I have great essay skills and first-hand exam experience that can aid students in receiving their qualifications, whilst learning to love the humanities.

About the lesson

With A-Levels in English Literature, Geography and History, I am able to teach KS3, GCSE and A-Level students, either at home or online.
I understand exam stress, and how overwhelming revision and learning can feel, so I aim to create a comfortable environment where learning is safe and questions are encouraged. I hope to cater to learning needs, ranging from visual aids to hands-on experience with practice questions.
Each session will contribute with what the student finds the most beneficial, whether that be clarifying content, or going through exam or assessment technique, with personalised feedback and support. Typical length of a lesson being 45 minutes to 90 minutes, depending on student's preference.
I received three A* in my coursework at A-Level, with two Bs in my exams. At GCSE, I got a 9 in History, and an 8 in Geography and English Language.
I have had experience working with young SEN children at a support group, meaning I can approach learning differently, and cater to specific support needs.
