About Beth

I used to be a tutor on ‘first tutors’, but have decided to try a new platform!

When i’m tutoring I like to get to know my students, as I know firsthand there’s nothing worse than a teacher you don’t get on with! I like to feel I create a professional relationship but where you can talk to me comfortably, to ensure your learning is both stimulating and effective.

I am currently working towards my degree in psychology. I am extremely flexible with when i’m available as a result of Covid-19 causing my current learning to be online!

I have achieved an A* in Psychology at A-Level. I hope to follow my passion for psychology and continue into a career in psychotherapy.

About the lesson

I can provide a range of methodologies to find which suits you best, with the learning material specific to your exam board. I tend to focus on more stimulating aspects, such and auditory and visual learning rather than just from a textbook to keep (even the boring) things more intriguing!

After establishing which topics you may struggle on, I will determine a logical order to focus on them for you. My past students have seemed to favour covering everything you need to know in smaller sections, making sure we don’t glance over anything. I will then provide you with quick quizzes to determine your weaker areas! This will be very active learning- back and forth answering and repeating to help you retain information easier.

After we complete a subtopic, I will then go over everything again briefly, just to make sure it’s all sticking! To ensure this, I may ask you to repeat back to me some key definitions or areas.

Once all topics are completed, or if you feel like you’ve covered everything and just want some help with exam techniques, I can provide some original test questions/ exam papers that I know from experience are likely to come up, in order to best prepare you for the real thing!

From studying this subject myself, I have also picked up tricks (and made a few up myself!) for retaining certain pieces of information that would be relevant to your course!
