About Jason

I hold a Ph.D. in history and a M.A. in Latin American, Latino, and Caribbean Studies from the University of South Florida, as well as a B.A. in Spanish Language and Literature from North Carolina State University. I have also taught college history, Latin American studies, and Spanish courses as a university professor for 20 years. Additionally, I am an internationally recognized scholar in my field and have traveled the world presenting my research at academic conferences in places such as Australia, Portugal, and Hawaii. I am also the host of an internationally recognized scholarly podcast (The Surfing Historian), which entails interviewing colleagues, other scholars, and professors about their research interests and scholarly publications. In short, I know what college entails (as a student and as a faculty member) and I am happy to help.

About the lesson

I hold a Ph.D. in history and have been a university professor for 20 years. I know the university system, how to apply, how to ensure you maximize your time as a student and graduate on time, as well as how to manage your time and study effectively. I would be happy to provide you with insight and guidance, as well as help you write your statement of purpose/application letter, or assist you with other seemingly daunting tasks associated with the college application process. Looking forward to helping you get into college and having fun and enjoying the ride while you're there.
