About Sandile
Hi, I'm Sandile.
I'm a University of Pretoria (concealed information) student majoring in Mathematics, Mathematical Literacy and Natural Sciences (Senior Phase and FET), with 2 years completed and practical teaching experience in Gauteng schools for Grades 7-10.
I grew up going to school like you, and I know how it feels when Maths feels like a different language. That is why I decided to become a teacher - I want to be the teacher I needed when I was struggling.
For me, teaching is not just about marks. It's about that moment when a learner says "Ohhh, now I understand!" I live for that moment. Nothing makes me happier than seeing a learner move from "I can't do Maths" to "I can do this alone."
I am from Alexandra and I tutor learners in Alexandra, Wynberg, Sandton, Midrand and online. I speak both English and isiZulu, so I can explain difficult topics in the language you understand best.
Outside tutoring, I spend my time creating simple worksheets, practising new teaching methods, and learning how to make Maths and Science less scary for learners.
I am patient, punctual, and I believe every learner can pass Maths with the right support. If you are willing to try, I am willing to help you all the way.

About my lessons:
Does Maths feel confusing or do you feel like you are just not a Maths person? My lessons are different because I don't just give you the answer, I teach you how to understand it so you can do it alone in the exam.
What makes my lessons unique:
I explain until it clicks. I explain every topic in English and isiZulu. If you don't understand it one way, I will explain it in 3 other ways until you get it. No rushing, no judging.
I am CAPS-aligned and exam focused. I am a University of Pretoria (concealed information) student majoring in Mathematics and Natural Sciences with practical teaching experience in Gauteng schools for Grades 7-10. I use my own CAPS worksheets, past exam papers and step-by-step methods that help you avoid common mistakes.
I specialise in learners who are struggling. I am very patient and I work best with learners who are getting 30% - 60% and want to improve. We go at your pace.
We use real life examples to make Maths simple and useful.
How a lesson works:
1. We check what you struggled with at school.
2. I teach the concept with simple examples.
3. We practise together.
4. You try on your own while I guide you.
5. You get a short worksheet for exam practice.
