About Ethan

I am a History and Spanish student at the University of Cambridge. Learning languages is one of my main passions, and I have learnt Spanish, French and even a few years of Mandarin, and am about to start with Portuguese! I love to learn about and explore the world around me, and engaging with the languages of other countries and cultures is an incredible window into this. I have recently spent 10 months in Argentina, and speaking to Argentinians in their own language felt like it really opened up the country for me to discover how much it had to offer. I love to share my own obsession with unlocking new languages with younger students, whether tutoring online, or even teaching English to Argentinian students. Beyond languages, I love to learn about international history, especially modern colonial history, and am a huge sports fan - football, rugby, tennis, playing or watching.

About the lesson

I like to tailor my tutoring to how the student enjoys learning and feels they do so best. Between vocab exercises and games, grammar theory and challenges, and applying knowledge to real-world texts/articles, I feel no two lessons have to be the same, but I am equally keen to find and hone a specific strategy that works for the student. I have tutored Spanish focusing on both speaking and writing, and can engage with techniques that both score well in exams, and are more commonly used in real-life Spanish conversations.
