I have worked in HE for 20 years and have extensive teaching experience, across a wide range of key LLB and LLM modules. About the lesson

I will provide a patient, friendly and supportive learning experience, that will enable you to develop both your understanding of the topics you are studying and your self-confidence as a budding lawyer. Tutoring sessions can be designed and planned to meet each learner's specific needs. If what you are seeking is simply some support with exam preparation and revision, tutoring sessions can be built around typical examination questions. This type of lesson will enable us to identify and remedy gaps and weaknesses in your knowledge and understanding of key aspects of the law. Tailored revision sessions can provide you with an opportunity to improve your examination performance by offering both an opportunity to discuss points of confusion with an experienced lecturer and, then, to receive feedback on draft answers to questions drawn from previous LLB examination papers.
Alternatively, you may be looking for broader learning support - perhaps help with a research project or dissertation. Where learners are seeking to gain an improved, in-depth understanding of key areas of law, lessons are designed in such a way as to provide a clear sense of 'real world' context and relevance. Thus, research and general learning support sessions will be related, wherever practicable, to current news-worthy domestic and international issues. This approach to lesson planning feeds inquisitive minds and encourages learners to develop a meaningful appreciation of the content and operation of the law.
In summary, then, following an initial discussion your lesson(s) will be tailored to meet your specific learning needs. Clear instructions and supporting learning materials (handouts / slides) will be provided. You will receive oral / written feedback on any draft examination answers / essays.

Details

The rates provided above are for single students. However, I offer reduced rates for small groups. For a one-to-one session the cost is £30, but if you come with a friend then the total (discounted) fee will be £50 per hour. If there are 3 students in your group then the total (discounted) fee will be £70, and for a class of 4 students I charge £90. For 5-6 students, the group fee will be £100. All prices include include initial discussions about learning needs and lesson design, lesson delivery, provision of associated handouts and reading lists, and feedback on any work submitted for review.
