About Elizabeth

I was a university lecturer at Cardiff University for 17 years where I taught Latin and Classical Studies. I now tutor young people and adults to reach their potential in English Language and Literature, Classics and Latin and have done so for the last 20 years. I have had experience of teaching in schools and also as an examiner. I have prepared students for public schools successfully. I generally get As for my students and certainly not below a B. I also have experience of teaching English as a foreign language and work closely with the Chinese School in Cardiff. Education has been the key to my success and I believe that this is the case for most people.

About the lesson

I have a vast experience of teaching a wide range of children and adults over nearly 30 years. I tutor primary through to graduates in order for them to succeed. I like to get to know my students to be able to tailor lessons to specific needs. Each lesson engages with what the student is studying, introducing new topics as per syllabus, and some revision. I like my students to ask questions. I believe in being patient and listening; my tutoring style is to observe and support, not to criticise.
