About Justin
I started my musical training as a chorister at the Drakensberg Boys Choir School and went on to matriculate with music as a subject. I started teaching class music at university as a volunteer for the Musicane project for less fortunate children and taught private music lessons to learners in guitar and singing. During this time I studies singing under the direction of world renowned baritone soloist, Professor Werner Nel and well known composer and actor Vaughn Van Zyl. After university I started teaching music in a professional capacity at a primary school on the West Rand and and have gained years of experience teaching the fundamentals of music and singing to children in a fun and modern way.

I be-leave its important for children to hear and feel the concepts of music taught before presenting the theory. I enjoy using modern musical material that kids can relate to when presenting elements of music such as pitch, rhythm, tempo and timbre. Children at a young age have a very short concentration span and thus I believe its important to keep them actively engaged for the duration of the lesson, by keeping them actively busy in context with the content being administered.
