About Alexandra
I'm an education student at the University of Cincinnati College, and I will be graduating with my associate's degree this spring and continuing on with my education to receive my bachelors next fall. I love children and have babysat for family friends several times in the past. I am very involved at my University and am in several organizations including: The Association for Student Educators, Alpha Lambda Delta (Honors Society), and the University of Cincinnati Honors Program. I was able experience being put in foreign situations and learning to work well outside of my comfort zone when I studied abroad in England and Spain in the summer of 2018. I also developed leadership and people skills through my job as a student orientation this previous summer, and I was able to get meaningful experience through note taking for a student with a learning disability through my University's Accessibility Resource Office.

I believe that it's important for children to learn in an engaged setting, and that it's difficult to teach anything long term through only lecturing. I think it's important to draw real world examples and show the connections of what is being taught to the student's life; if this is done I believe that student's understanding will become more solid. It's also important to create and maintain communication with the student and build a relationship with them that will result in them feeling comfortable to approach me with questions or point out when they don't understand something. Lastly, it is crucial to seek to understand each student's individual learning needs, strengths, and weaknesses so that I can best help them achieve success in their academic pursuits.
