About Laurence

I'm not in this for me, I'm in it for you!

I am where I am today because of previous teachers who have pushed and inspired me whilst growing up. For much of my life I have sought to do the same for those I work with. I have worked with young people who have been written off by others and seen them achieve greatness.
I live for those moments where things click into place for a student and they realise that they are capable and intelligent. In life we need our champions, though who work through problems with us and see us out the other side, that's me.
I also once convinced a class of children that my colleague was actually a princess - you should ask me about that when we meet!

About the lesson

I have worked in education as a class teacher/ headteacher and tutor for over 17 years.
Cambridge University graduate with UK Qualified Teacher Status.
I've worked with young people from a multitude of back grounds, including many with severe SEND and emotional/ behavioural needs.
I work to make sessions interactive, using video, photographs and written sources to get you thinking and get you learning. For face-to-face sessions this can include museum visits as nothing beats experiencing History!
Sessions run for an hour (I can go for longer if you like)
Suitable for GCSE and A-Level students.
