About Lila
I am a first year University of Birmingham student who went to an all-girl grammar school since year 7 which I loved. I've always felt very strongly about my academia, but I also love the arts, theatre especially. I have two younger brothers who I love to play football with and is how I started my tutoring journey. I have tutored a range of subjects from geography to biology but my love for mathematics ensured to be my favourite to learn and to tutor.

As a tutor I have had a handful of experience, from A-level students in person to weekly one-on-one online GCSE sessions. Typically, a length of a lesson would be an hour as I have found this is a perfect amount of time to effectively teach and aid students without them getting tired. My techniques always start with a 5 minute brain warm up with an engaging exercise. I then follow this with using a shared screen on either Zoom or Google Hangouts with questions that I know my student struggles with, gradually getting harder. When a student struggles I use an online pen and sketchpad to give a detailed, clear, bullet-pointed run through for us both to go through together. I aim to teach GCSE students. I am very good with students, being a very friendly, happy person, and deeply look forward to tutoring.

Lila is currently tutoring our son in maths to prepare for upcoming GCSE exams . Her calm , focussed manner has been extremely effective and our son came top of his class in the recent mock exams - he is even considering Maths as an A level now ! We also hired Lila to tutor our younger son through his 11+ exams last year . He has a very short attention span , but Lila managed to make amazing progress in the online sessions - highly recommended .
