I know how frustrating it can be to study hard but still struggle to apply concepts to exam questions. My approach is patient, practical, and focused on helping you understand the why behind the numbers, not just memorize formulas or procedures.

I tailor my teaching to how you learn, break down complex topics into manageable steps, and show you how to approach and work through exam-style problems with confidence. Whether you're catching up, aiming for a higher grade, or preparing for a challenging midterm or final, I'm here to help you get there.

About the lesson

My Teaching Approach: My goal is to help university students truly understand accounting and finance, solve exam-style problems confidently, and perform at their best on quizzes, assignments, midterms, and finals.

With an MBA in Financial Analysis, an undergraduate degree in Accounting and Finance (double-major), Big 4 Audit and Corporate accounting experience, and over 13 years of university tutoring experience, I bring academic knowledge, real-world business experience, and a practical approach to teaching.

I believe the key to mastering accounting and finance is understanding the underlying concepts and doing exam-style practice questions (you've got to get your reps in), rather than simply memorizing formulas or procedures. I break down difficult topics into clear, manageable steps and help students apply what they have learned through guided practice and exam-style questions

How My Lessons Work: Each lesson is tailored to your university course, current level of understanding, and your goals for the course.

A typical lesson includes: Identifying problem areas - We review your course material/assignments/practice questions/ exam topics to identify where you need the most help.

Explaining the concepts: I break down difficult material into simple, logical steps, using examples to make abstract concepts easier to understand.

Working through problems together: We solve exam-style questions step-by-step, with an emphasis on understanding the reasoning behind each calculation and decision.

Practicing independently: You work through additional similar problems while I provide guidance, identify mistakes, and help you develop effective problem-solving techniques.

Preparing for exams: We focus on exam-style questions, common mistakes, time management, and strategies for maximizing exam performance under time pressure.

My teaching style is interactive and practical. I always encourage students to ask questions, explain their reasoning, and learn from their mistakes. The goal is to help you become independent and confident!

What Sets Me Apart: I have spent more than 13 years helping university students tackle challenging accounting and finance courses. I have access to test banks and past exams that take students' exam performance to the next level. My experience includes teaching private and group lessons, weekly tutorials, intensive crash courses, mock exams, and customized exam-preparation materials.

Whether you need to strengthen your fundamentals, keep up with weekly coursework, prepare intensively for an upcoming exam, or aim for a higher grade, our lessons will be structured around your specific needs.

Who My Lessons Are For: I specialize in undergraduate university and college students taking business accounting, and finance courses, including students who need to catch up, strengthen their foundations, or prepare for demanding assignments, projects, and exams

My main areas of instruction are:

* Financial Accounting: Accounting fundamentals, journal entries, adjusting entries, financial statements, and related introductory and intermediate topics.

* Managerial Accounting: Cost behaviour, Cost-Volume-Profit (CVP) analysis, Budgeting, Variance analysis, Activity-Based Costing (ABC), Job order costing, Process costing, etc.

* Finance: Time value of money (TVM), Capital budgeting, Risk and return, Investments, CAPM, Bonds & Liabilities, Equity/Stock Valuation, Interest Rate conversion, Cash flow estimation, NPV analysis, Weight Average Cost of Capital (WACC), etc.

I offer support for assignments, practice problems, midterm and final exam prep, intensive crash courses, and mock exams.

Lessons can be conducted online or in-person, subject to availability.
