About Cecilia

I'm a second-year medical student at the University of Nottingham, but I was born and raised in Rome, Italy. Surgery has always been my dream job and I'm constantly fascinated by the perfect mix of science and art that Medicine is.

However, my humanistic background, coming from an Italian high school, left me with a passion for the Italian language and literature and many other classical subjects, like ancient Latin and Greek. In my free time, I read history of philosophy books and essays by Italian authors. I'm also incredibly invested in my travels: I will spend weeks planning the perfect trip and I love exploring new places and cultures.

I love volunteering and spend two nights per week feeding the homeless of Nottingham with Souprunners society. I play volleyball in the medics' team and I'm a big fan of Italian food; you'd probably find me cooking a delicious lasagna for my housemates when I'm at home.

I have mastered the art of exams, getting top grades in high school and during my first year at university. I believe I can teach the essential techniques to be confident in front of any paper.

About the lesson

Flexibility is my number-one priority; I strongly believe that the teaching style and session structure should be shaped on the preferences and needs of the student, in order to allow them to learn at their best and, ultimately, succeed.

Exam techniques will be a central focus in my sessions, teaching crucial tricks that students can use to have the confidence to face any exam. Measuring progress will also be extremely important; a small recap quiz at the beginning and end of each session would ensure that the material is clear and allow me to adjust my teaching technique, if necessary.

Lastly, my main goal during my sessions is to make the student feel confident enough to ask any questions and clear all of their doubts, leaving them content and satisfied with their knowledge.
