About Georgia
I'm Georgia, a second year student of BA Spanish and Italian at the University of York. I've always had a passion for languages and cultures, hence sticking with the subject throughout the whole of my academic life. I love to show others how great it is to be able to know a second, or potentially third language, as it allows for deeper and wider communication. It opens up knowledge of the native language, too, and makes you realise why language works the way it does. I struggled a lot with confidence in speaking exams in particular, and so I help create a safe environment where students can feel comfortable practicing this skill.
At GCSE I achieved grade 9, and at A Level I achieved an A*.

I approach my lessons with a friendly face. I know how daunting GCSEs can be, I have been there myself, and so I like to make my students feel at ease to come to me with any questions and feel safe to make mistakes. A key learning strategy I use is using mistakes to learn from, and create a drive for wanting to know more about the subject. Knowing a language is highly beneficial, so I like to instil my own passion into my students and show them that Spanish is an incredible language. My lessons last 1 hour and are packed full of GCSE tailored content to help my students feel supported and ready for exams!
