About Gracie
Hello! I'm Gracie, and I'm a friendly and experienced tutor and an undergraduate student at the University of Birmingham, who achieved a grade A* in A-Level Psychology. With my recent experience with A-Level examinations, I understand first-hand what it is like to take on these daunting assessments. I therefore aspire to help students prepare for these exams, and maximise their potential, offering online tutoring sessions and marking work. Having a good relationship with an educator is often key to inspiring success in a subject, and I strive to be a figure that students can trust, respect, and approach with any uncertainties they may be facing.

I primarily conduct my tutoring sessions over video calls (e.g., Zoom), as I find this allows for greater flexibility, both for myself and my tutees. I have found that tutoring is most effective when a student provides some examples of their work, so that I can gain a basic understanding of their current working level. This could be through scans of past exam papers, or homework tasks; samples of written work and marked feedback are very helpful. From here, I like to set up a program of work, in collaboration with my students, covering the subject areas or skills they feel they need the most help with, or that I have observed require improvement. Over video sessions, we then work together to move through this program, and I may set (small!) tasks for students to complete independently, so I can keep tabs on their progress and development. Over the past three years, I have tutored both GCSE and A-Level students (from years 7-13), all from a range of academic abilities and educational backgrounds. During my time as Head Girl at my High School and Sixth Form, I mentored younger students and also completed work experience teaching classes, resulting in a 'Pre-GCE' qualification, accredited by the University of Worcester.
