About Haley

I have completed my sophomore year in Cellular & Molecular Neuroscience and have taken, and passed, the following (relevant) classes throughout my university career: General Chemistry I, General Chemistry II, Organic Chemistry I, Organic Chemistry II, Biology I, Biology II, Chemistry I & II Lab, Biology I & II Lab, Calculus, and Introduction to Statistics.
I have assisted PhD students with their research in polymer chemistry in my first year of university and have been able to maintain a job throughout the entirety of university while taking a rigorous course load.
Additionally, during my high school career, I tutored students in the first grade, predominately in the maths and sciences. While many of them struggled with the concepts at first, my ability to assess what each student struggles with allowed them to grasp the concepts with ease. I hope to do the same with my students!

About the lesson

I like to be precise and go in-depth with the way I teach. I don't want my students to just be able to solve one problem, I want them to learn the proper approach and formulas so that they can solve any problem they run into.
My goal as a tutor is to provide my students with the skills to achieve mastery in their subjects; not just basic understanding. I also love explaining things I'm passionate about (like chemistry) so I am all ears for any problem my students may have.
What separates me from other tutors is my passion for the subjects I teach. I have a deep love for the way the world works and love all things math and science. My goal is to make sure my students love it too!
I understand that these subjects are hard and I love to create relevant and fun examples to help my students understand these difficult concepts.
Typically, a lesson plan would be derived from what my student is currently learning in school and struggling with. I would have them take a practice test to assess their current understanding and have them walk me through step-by-step how they solved each problem. From there, I would create lesson plans that directly target each students' individual needs.
