I was not so good at maths and physics in high school but what my teacher taught me is to practice and learn new interesting stuff every day as it will help in maintaining my interest because if you are not interested in something you can not opt that for a long run.

I believe it is way more important to gain knowledge and not run after having good grades as having knowledge is better for long run. I do agree good grades are important but not the only important stuff. In education learning is very important and for subjects like maths and physics you will require a constant practice to be good in these subject the more you practice the better your performance becomes.
