About Angeline

In my previous experience of tutoring and mentoring, I have enjoyed watching my students grow in confidence to answer questions and put their learned knowledge to the test. It has been rewarding to facilitate learning lessons for students but also gain my own personal leadership and teaching style. With each student, I understand that each of them has their own unique needs and I am here for guidance to understand where they may need extra help by identifying their strengths and weaknesses. Depending on the age, I enjoy incorporating games in between lessons for younger students to keep their engagement and attention but for those who are older I like to let them lead conversations and activities on what they like to do during breaks.

About the lesson

With prior experience of tutoring students at a children's hospital, I understand and acknowledge that each student has their own learning style and ability to grasp on to concepts. With this in mind, I possess qualities such as adaptability and patience, characteristics that are vital to have to equip a comfortable and inviting environment when working with students of all ages. My personal teaching method and techniques involve individualization, cooperative learning, application based, visualization, as well as ensuring that the learning "wheel" is in their own hands. Most of my experience revolves around working with ages between 5-16 years old but I am flexible to facilitate learning experiences to those who are younger or older. Specifically, my strong subjects include math, ranging from elementary to Calculus III and science, ranging from elementary to college courses such as biology, genetics, molecular/micro biology, and biochemistry. In addition, I am fluent in Vietnamese and conversational in Spanish and have a background of playing piano for 14 years.
