About Emma

My name is Emma and I’m a student at Cambridge university, studying Anthropology. I studied English Literature, Politics and Religious Studies at A-Level (A*A*A*) and I have an A* in Classics AS, and an A* in my Extended Project Qualification. I also received offers from UCL, KCL, Manchester and Birmingham universities. I have experience with both the state school and private school system so I have seen the gaps in educational approach between the two, so I am the ideal candidate to coach your children or students to become the best they can possibly be. Additionally, As I am half Japanese, I am particularly sensitive to the needs of international students. I support all students in English and endeavour to teach grammar, spelling and essay writing skills to the highest standard.

About the lesson

My lessons are between 45 minutes to an hour long and will entirely depend on the student’s year and needs. For those under 11, I can support your child with: -verbal and non-verbal reasoning -SATS English skills - spelling and grammar For those in secondary school (aged 11-16), I can help with - understanding the relevant curriculum -teaching tips, tricks and formulae for excellent exam results - working through exam exercises to gain confidence and speed For any student, I can help with: - Planning, editing and structuring - Writing and use of academic English - Grammar, sentence structure and flow of essays - Finding research and sources - Proof-reading - UCAS help and an assessment of your personal statement I can also support any student thinking of applying to Oxford or Cambridge, and support with interview prep and entrance examinations.
