About Nakkisa

I attended UC Berkeley for undergrad where I earned a BA in Poli Sci and UCLA Law for law school, where I specialized in Critical Race Studies. I love test prep! I taught the SAT for years before deciding to try my hand at tutoring the LSAT. I was accepted as an LSAT teacher before I had taken the test myself, based on my performance on a qualifying exam and during the 40+ hours of intensive training. I taught the LSAT for large test prep companies both before and after law school. I scored a 171 on the real thing in 2008 and have a high score of 179 on real practice tests. I was trained in tried-and-true techniques and have a deep understanding of the structure and strategies to excel on the LSAT. My background includes both classroom instruction for up to 10 students and highly personalized one-on-one tutoring. This experience has shown me that individualized attention delivers the most dramatic score improvements, which is why I now focus primarily on private tutoring.

About the lesson

I provide one-on-one or small group LSAT tutoring, with personalized lesson plans, tailored to your needs. My lessons will consist of methodically going through real tests and test questions, identifying the question types, and providing you with easy to follow techniques to approach each facet of the test. I’ll customize study plans, teach you the basics, assist you with time management, give you practical tips to mentally prepare, and help you analyze your performance to identify opportunities to increase your score.

I can work with you on the ideal package for your needs. I typically recommend 10-30 hours of one-on-one tutoring over 6-10 weeks, depending on where you start, how much time you’re willing to put in on self study, and what your target score range is. How we structure the course will also depend on the time you’re able to commit to tutoring sessions. I find 2 hour sessions to be ideal but have done shorter 1 hour and longer sessions up to 3 hours. If you are looking for tutoring on more specific areas (one of the two section types, a specific type of question, etc) I am happy to personalize shorter packages. The cost of the commercially materials will be $50-100 depending on your preferences.
