About Suleiman

Hi! I’m Suleiman — a Biochemistry undergraduate at UCL and a passionate tutor for GCSE and IB Maths. I achieved 44 points in the International Baccalaureate (IB), including 7s in Higher Level Maths AA, as well as seven grade 9s at GCSE, so I know exactly what it takes to excel in these subjects. My lessons are relaxed but focused — I believe students learn best when they feel comfortable asking questions. I aim to simplify complex concepts, connect ideas clearly, and build confidence through practice and understanding rather than memorisation. As someone who’s recently been through the GCSE and IB exams myself, I understand the challenges students face and how to overcome them. I adapt each lesson to suit the student’s pace, strengths, and goals — whether it’s improving exam technique, tackling difficult topics, or aiming for top grades. If you’re looking for engaging, personalised tutoring that helps you truly understand Maths, I’d be happy to help you reach your goals!

About the lesson

As a recent school leaver, I understand how challenging some topics in Maths can be. That’s why my teaching style focuses on keeping things simple, clear, and engaging. I take a friendly and patient approach, starting by identifying what the student already knows and where they feel stuck. I explain topics step by step, using examples, diagrams, analogies and questions to make sure they really understand before moving on. I also encourage students to ask as many questions as they need — no pressure or judgement. In a typical lesson (around 90-120 minutes), I’ll go through a topic with the student, help them work through some practice questions, and then review what we’ve covered at the end. I also give tips on how to study effectively and manage revision, based on what helped me succeed in school.
