About Eileen
I’m Eileen, a student at the University of Chicago with a strong background in SAT prep, math, reading, and writing. I scored a 1560 on the SAT after improving my own score by over 200 points, so I understand both the test itself and the process of learning how to study effectively. I have helped several students improve their SAT scores, with some increasing by up to 300 points. I’ve also been tutoring for years, including through Princeton Tutoring, which has helped me become patient, organized, and good at explaining concepts in different ways. My goal is to make SAT prep feel less stressful and more manageable while helping each student build real confidence.

My approach as a tutor is patient, encouraging, and personalized. I know that SAT prep can feel overwhelming at first, so I try to make each lesson clear and manageable. Instead of giving students random practice problems, I first get to know their goals, strengths, weaknesses, and timeline. Then I build a plan around what will help them improve the most.
A typical lesson usually starts with reviewing questions the student missed or found confusing. Then we focus on one main topic, such as algebra, grammar, reading strategies, timing, or test-taking skills. After that, we work through practice problems together. I like to explain not just how to solve a problem, but how to recognize similar questions in the future. I can also make customized practice problems based on the student’s mistakes, so they get extra practice exactly where they need it.
What sets me apart is that I try to make students feel comfortable asking questions. I remember how stressful standardized testing can be, and I want my students to feel more confident, not judged. As a UChicago student with a strong SAT background, I can help students with both the content and the strategy side of the test.
My lessons are for middle school and high school students preparing for the SAT, improving math or English skills, or working on algebra, geometry, precalculus, grammar, reading, and essay writing. I’m happy to work with students who are just starting, students trying to raise their score, or students who want a more structured study plan.

Eileen is an outstanding Geometry tutor. She explains concepts clearly and patiently, breaks complex proofs into logical steps, and uses visual examples that make spatial ideas click. With targeted practice and helpful feedback she boosted my confidence and improved my test scores. Highly recommended for students needing clear, effective Geometry help.
Eileen helped me a ton with Precalc! Super nice and brought my grade up a ton.
I know Eileen from high school and she appeared like an angel during my time of distress. We were doing debate club together and that’s when I mentioned to her that I was struggling in studying for the SAT and that I really needed a good score. She started giving me tips and tricks to score well and also handed me study material that I would have never known existed before. Whenever I struggled, she would sit down and explain everything to me without any doubt left behind. She teaches in a way that isn’t condescending, which is a problem with many tutors, and she has a lot of patience with those who don’t clearly understand the material. Ive tried plenty of other tutors before, and I can confidently say that she is one of the best out there. She motivated me enough that I scored a 1500+ and I’ve never been more proud of myself. I couldn’t have done it without her. She’s truly an amazing person and she’s incredibly smart, kind, and well grounded in applicable teaching methods. Thank you so much Eileen!!!
