About Finnian Grace
My name is Finnian and I am a senior at UC Berkeley hoping to help elementary to high school students with math and/or chemistry. I have experience tutoring high school students in Chemistry and elementary to middle school students in math but am very well versed in both subjects for all age ranges.
My academic passions revolve around environmental science. I am particularly interested in wildlife management and cartography (map making). I have been involved with research in both and, not surprisingly, use math in statistical analysis and optimization problems regularly!

As an experienced tutor, I rely on patience and compassion to help my students find aspects of the subject to enjoy. Typically, I tutor my students by helping them with problems in their homework, first by going through a problem together, then encouraging them to work through the others on their own in order to show me their work and ask me questions about specific problems they are struggling with. I can also put together problem sets to work through together if they need extra help with a certain module in their math or chemistry class.
I once found math and chemistry difficult, but eventually, did very well in my high school and college courses and enjoyed learning new content by looking at problems like puzzles, searching for the pieces to complete my assignments, and putting them together. I plan to show my students how to do the same!
