About Anushka

I’m a UBC graduate with a background in psychology, education, and linguistics, and I’ve been in this field for about six years.

Over that time, I’ve worked with a wide range of learners- from adults in professional fields to young children, neurodivergent youth, and teenagers preparing for university admissions and language exams.

I’ve always been drawn to languages and the psychology behind how we learn them. I myself speak four languages and am currently learning a fifth, so I know firsthand how different this process can look for everyone. I don’t believe language learning should follow one fixed formula. I use evidence-based instructional techniques to ensure lasting outcomes for all my students.

About the lesson

IELTS prep can feel overwhelming, so I like to keep lessons clear, focused, and easy to follow. Every student has different needs and strengths, so I create personalized lesson plans based on what works best for you and what you want to achieve.

I’m a UBC graduate with a background in psychology, education, and linguistics. I use research-based instructional and learning techniques throughout my lessons. This background helps me take a more holistic approach to learning—one that focuses not just on the test, but also on how you understand, remember, and apply new skills.

In our first lesson, I’ll conduct an initial assessment to understand your current skills, strengths, and areas that need more attention. We’ll also talk about your target score, your timeline, and your reason for taking the IELTS.
From there, I’ll create a structured plan around your goals. I’ll also discuss my approach with you so you understand what we’ll be working on, why we’re focusing on certain areas, and how the plan connects to your goals. As we continue, we can adjust the lessons based on your progress and what you find most helpful.

My goal is to help you feel more confident, improve your IELTS performance, and build lasting English skills that continue to help you beyond the test.
