About Jayne

Hello! I’m Jayne Alexander, and I’m passionate about bringing social studies to life for my students. I currently teach grades 8-12 at a well-regarded private school in British Columbia. I hold a degree in History, as well as a teaching degree from the University of British Columbia (UBC).

About the lesson

As a tutor for AP Human Geography, I focus on creating an engaging and interactive learning environment tailored to each student's needs. My teaching methodology blends concept-based learning with real-world examples, helping students understand the underlying principles of human geography and how they apply to global patterns and processes. I emphasize critical thinking, thematic analysis, and the development of effective study strategies to prepare for the AP exam.

Lesson plans are tailored directly to student needs. Whether they need support with specific concepts, or the various types of assessments found on the AP Exam, we can work together to create a plan that best meets the students needs.

What sets me apart is my ability to break down complex concepts into manageable ideas and adapt my teaching style to each student's learning pace. I also make a point of connecting course material to current events and real-life scenarios, making learning more relevant and interesting.

My lessons are ideal for high school students preparing for the AP Human Geography exam. Whether you need comprehensive content reviews, help with specific units, or strategies for acing the AP exam, I'm here to help you succeed!
