I am a student, currently transferring to UC Davis, who's been tutoring Chemistry at Ventura College since 2016. On campus, I have tutored a minimum of fifty per year and have tutored a dozen privately off campus. Many of my students have achieved an increase of 8% in their test grades while I was tutoring them, and as I have completed the lower division courses for biology and physics, I am capable of giving a more complete understanding of the material.

About the lesson

My methodology is based entirely on the student. I ask questions and keep a notebook of the responses in order to identify what seems to be the largest issues. I usually set up the lesson to be a review of lecture or a grind through the homework, and a period of supplemental questions. If possible, I will ask for the sections that are to be covered before the first meeting to use the time efficiently.

If the student is not studying for a standardized test, I don't usually bring any of my own questions but utilize those provided in class. This allows me to prepare the students for the tests that this teacher will provide. Rarely, the teacher may not offer many practice problems, in which case I will bring problems of my own.

MY FIRST SESSION IS $10. This will allow you to test the waters and see if we will make a good match :) .

I have a standard of $2 for traveling, however for any distance that requires more than 15 miles of driving for me (round trip), I will need to increase the cost slightly.

I do NOT charge more for one subject over another.
