About Qistina

My name is Qistina (Kiss-tee-na), and I am a current Environmental Science student based in Perth, WA. I graduated highschool in 2025 with my top ATAR subjects being English and Biology.

Throughout highschool, I gained a love for English and science subjects. I've been an avid reader since I was a child, and it assisted me in both my English creative writing and science learning. I have a strong passion for both subjects.

Throughout highschool, the biggest setback I faced was the inability to ask for academic help from my peers and teachers. I was a pretty shy and quiet kid, who often feared "silly" or "stupid" questions, and judgement from my peers. In my final high school years and ongoing years of university, I confidently know now that there are no questions that should be hidden or held back out of the fear of judgement.

Everyone has different ways and speeds of learning, and I aspire to be able to assist students as much as they can from a tutor's perspective.

I am a firm believer that any student can achieve success if they have the right mindset and a supportive learning environment. I hope to be able to create a learning space that focuses on the student's specific academic needs rather than following a concrete curriculum structure, unless requested. Students are the ones who put in the true work and effort for their grades, and tutors are simply there to provide academic support where they need.

About the lesson

I offer help in homework, assignments, and understanding class material for English . The lessons I am able to provide are based on the student's recognised areas of weakness.

Better preparations lead to better lesson outcomes. A couple days before a scheduled tuition class, I would recommend letting me know what topics are being covered in class, or sending the unit/assessment outline to me when we begin lessons.

Lessons are online through Google Meet, and the duration is for about an hour. These classes are suited for years 7-10 following the WA English Curriculum.

I graduated as an ATAR student in 2025 with my top subject being English. Before that, I also consistently achieved high marks in English for my lower high school years. My greatest strengths were in analysis and creative writing.

I hope to bring a welcoming, patient and supporting learning environment for students of all backgrounds.
