About Matthew

I have recently gone through the GCSE and A-Level courses, so I remember well the confusion and difficulty this brings. I got 9's in Maths and Sciences at GCSE, as well as 4 A* s in Maths and Sciences at A-Level. I have experience tutoring several students via Webcam and use a combination of interactive whiteboard and presentations to help explain ideas as clearly as possible. I have also coordinated several science help and tutoring groups at my school, from KS3 to AS. I am now a student at the University of Oxford, studying for a Masters in Physics, with hopes to go into particle physics!

About the lesson

I aim to deliver student-driven Maths lessons, catering to the wants and needs of each individual, so you can truly excel in your exams. I will coordinate with you before each lesson, so I can tailor the content and pace to a level that will allow you to come away feeling confident in your abilities. A typical lesson format will consist of; reviewing any work you struggled with from homework and school, before running a 40-minute lesson in which I will explain a topic (e.g. Circle Theorems, Trigonometry, etc.). I really believe that the best way to learn Maths is by working through questions, so in each lesson I will guide guide you through some relevant practice problems. To finish, I will set some homework to reinforce what we have learnt.
I can also run revision sessions, either working through a past paper together or I can do a whistle-stop tour of multiple topics, to help you feel ready for whatever the exams may through at you!

Perfect! Great communication, lessons well planned and a wonderful way of explaining maths while providing encouragement to a student who really doesn't want to be doing maths.
